Evanescence<\/a>\u00a0have announced their new album \u2018Sanctuary\u2019 and shared the dramatic lead single \u2018Who Will You Follow\u2019 \u2013\u00a0listen\u00a0below.<\/p>\n

The Arkansas band will release their sixth studio record, and the follow-up to 2021\u2019s \u2018The Bitter Truth\u2019, on June 5 via BMG and you can pre-order it now\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0as a digital album, or on standard or deluxe CD, or as a limited-edition box set. A 2LP vinyl version will also be available from September 4.<\/p>\n

The first single is \u2018Who Will You Follow\u2019, a track that taps into the band\u2019s classic sound, with Amy Lee\u2019s soaring, emotional vocals matched by the fierce dynamism of the rest of the band. \u201cWhat have\u00a0you done to me \/ You drain the life out of me till I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know myself \/ When all your faith\u00a0in reality fades\u00a0away \/ Who will you follow,\u201d she sings.<\/p>\n

The track has been co-written and produced by former\u00a0Bring Me The Horizon <\/a>member and prolific producer<\/a>\u00a0Jordan Fish<\/a>\u00a0as well as Zakk Cervini (Spiritbox<\/a>,\u00a0Yungblud<\/a>),\u00a0both of whom have contributed to other tracks on \u2018Sanctuary\u2019,\u00a0as has producer Nick\u00a0Raskulinecz\u00a0(Foo Fighters<\/a>,\u00a0Rush<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Lee has said: \u201cThis album is over three years in the making, and finally listening back to it all at once, about to release it to the world, I am so damn proud of every second of it. It\u2019s overwhelming. Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection\u2026 good thing we have the tour all lined up or I wouldn\u2019t know what to do with myself now! In December,\u00a0the band also announced a huge UK and European tour for later this year<\/a>, their first visit since 2022. The UK and European shows will follow Evanescence\u2019s North American tour with Spiritbox and Nova Twins over the summer.<\/p>\n

Last year,\u00a0Amy Lee teamed up with\u00a0Spiritbox\u2019s Courtney LaPlante and Poppy for the ground-breaking collaborative track \u2018End Of\u00a0You\u2019<\/a>\u00a0and later spoke to\u00a0NME\u00a0about the chances of the three of them releasing further music as a supergroup.<\/p>\n
