Manchester United fans instantly singled out Kobbie Mainoo from the Premier League showdown against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Michael Carrick<\/a> suffered a key setback to Manchester United<\/a>\u2019s top-four Premier League ambitions in the Red Devils\u2019 first match in the post-March break.<\/p>\n

Man Utd hosted Leeds United at Old Trafford<\/a> on Monday evening and the 10-man Red Devils lost 2-1 in their first Premier League match after 24 days out of action.<\/p>\n

Following Leeds United\u2019s shock win against Man Utd<\/a>, Michael Carrick\u2019s men visited Stamford Bridge in their final six Premier League matches of the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n

Posting on United In Focus\u2019 TalkingPoints<\/a> platform, Manchester United fans<\/a> were full of high praise for the performance of Kobbie Mainoo<\/a> against Chelsea on Saturday.<\/p>\n

One Man Utd fan said: \u201cKobbie Mainoo. My lord, we have missed you. It makes such a difference when he\u2019s playing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another Red Devils supporter wrote: \u201cMissed him so much [vs] Leeds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKobbie Mainoo [was Man of the Match], for me. He was absolutely brilliant on his return,\u201d a third TalkingPoints user suggested.<\/p>\n

Somebody else explained: \u201cYou sometimes forget how good he is. Then you watch him and just\u2026 WOW.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKobbie had [Cole] Palmer locked up [in the] second half,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n

Someone else posted: \u201cFrom the look of things, United should start building the team around Kobbie Mainoo. As young as he is, he has garnered sufficient experience as an emerging midfielder, [evident] by his recall to the national team set-up. Were [Ruben] Amorim to remain at [Old Trafford] till the end of the season, Kobbie\u2019s career would have been buried.\u201d<\/p>\n

Man Utd broke the deadlock over Chelsea<\/a> ahead of half-time after Matheus Cunha<\/a> expertly converted a superb first-time finish from a Bruno Fernandes<\/a> cutback pass.<\/p>\n

Chelsea were 1-0 down against United<\/a> going into the break at Stamford Bridge, despite a strong first-half showing from Liam Rosenior\u2019s men on the night.<\/p>\n

The Blues were unable to rally back in the second half and Man Utd were able to hold onto the lead and ensure a clean sheet from their Premier League clash.<\/p>\n

United are third in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are now 10 points clear of sixth-place Chelsea going into their final five league matches this season.<\/p>\n
