Taking a wider stance than in the conventional version, with toes turned slightly out and hands positioned between her legs, this variation targets the glutes, quads and hamstrings.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"23\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Keeping the focus on lower body and  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/core-workouts\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/core-workouts\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"core\" data-node-id=\"23.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">core<\/a>, the \u2018Never Be The Same Again\u2019 singer then performed hanging straight leg raises. This exercise primarily targets the rectus abdominis (your \u2018six-pack\u2019 muscle), obliques and hip flexors. Hanging from the bar while lifting the legs with control \u2013 avoiding swinging or arching \u2013 also challenges grip and forearm strength.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"27\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Mel then moved into  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a60535930\/back-squat\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a60535930\/back-squat\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"back squats\" data-node-id=\"27.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">back squats<\/a>, using a friend as a spotter.
