Be prepared to be transfixed, as there’s some truly cracking shows make their way to the small screen this week. <\/p>\n

Telly fans are in for a treat as Netflix’s “twisted” and “dark” psychological thriller centred around a cult romance debuts this week. Starring Siobhan Finneran, with Asa Butterfield and Molly Windsor as its leads, Tudum<\/a> promises a series full of “dark secrets”. And that’s not the only Netflix treat coming your way, as Stranger Things fans are welcomed back into the world of Hawkins in a brand-new and exciting way, thanks to its new animated spinoff<\/a> Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. <\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the BBC has a new series from Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd, and don’t worry crime drama fans, we’ve also got you covered with a returning detective-led series. <\/p>\n

Half Man <\/p>\n

Following on from Richard Gadd’s critically-acclaimed series Baby Reindeer, the multi-award-winning creator is back with another show. The fictional Half Man is set to be an exploration of “brotherhood, violence, and the intense fragility”, says the BBC, one that throws Ruben (Gadd) and Niall’s (Jamie Bell) bond under the microscope. <\/p>\n

Though not blood related, Ruben and Niall are brought into each other’s lives in their youth. However things have clearly changed when, decades later, Ruben turns up at Niall’s wedding. An explosion of violence occurs, catapulting the story back to the ’80s, and a 30-year-spanning story unfolds, revealing the broken lives of these men. <\/p>\n

Half Man is available to watch from Friday 24 April at 6am on BBC iPlayer, followed by BBC One later in the week. <\/p>\n

Criminal Record, season 2<\/p>\n

Peter Capaldi is back as DCI Daniel Hegarty. Joined by Cush Jumbo, who also reprises her role as DS June Lenker, the series sees the detectives embark on a tough case when they are forced into an uneasy alliance after a political rally turns violent.<\/p>\n

As the case unfolds<\/a>, the pair realise they have an undercover mission on their hands. Hegarty and Lenker must smoke out their far-right criminal before they can put their plot in motion. <\/p>\n

Criminal Record season 2 is available from Wednesday 22 April on Apple TV.<\/p>\n

If you’re after a moving watch, then BBC’s new drama Mint could be the ideal pick. Centred around the “soaring romance” and “crushing heartbreak” between central couple Shannon (Emma Laird) and Arran (Ben Coyle-Larner), the eight-part series tracks their love affair from their first meeting and, according to the broadcaster, explores “what love might feel like when everyone outside of your family is terrified of you”. <\/p>\n

The show also stars Sherwood’s Lindsay Duncan and Breaking Bad and Patience actor Laura Fraser. <\/p>\n

Mint is available to watch from Monday 20 April at 9pm on BBC One.<\/p>\n

Packed with some extremely impressive talent \u2013 we’re talking Lost Boys and Fairies’ Fra Fee, Sex Education’s Asa Butterfield, Doctor Who’s Christopher Eccleston and Happy Valley’s Siobhan Finneran \u2013 Netflix’s Unchosen is not one to be missed.<\/p>\n

Dubbed by Netflix (via Tudum<\/a>) as a “twisted” psychological thriller with “dark secrets”, the six-part series follows its lead Molly Windsor in the role of Rosie, who is enveloped in a fictional conservative religious sect. <\/p>\n

A devoted mother and wife, Rosie unexpectedly finds herself thrust onto a dangerous path when she meets escaped convict Sam (Fee). <\/p>\n

Unchosen is available to watch from Tuesday 21 April on Netflix. <\/p>\n

Stranger Things: Tales from ’85<\/p>\n

If you’re longing to be back in the world of Hawkins, then Netflix has the answer. From the world of Stranger Things comes Tales from ’85, which follows the main core gang (voiced by new actors) in the freezing winter of 1985. <\/p>\n

The loveable misfits soon find themselves thrust into an epic journey of monster fighting, as they come face to face with a new paranormal mystery to unravel. <\/p>\n

There’s a new baddie terrorising their town, and once again, they are the only ones who can save the day.<\/p>\n
