Adam Thomas has confessed he felt “broken” by David Haye during their time filming I’m A Celebrity South Africa. The 37-year-old actor is currently featuring on the all-stars version of the show, nearly 10 years after his initial stint on the programme’s original format.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, boxer David<\/a>, who had already sparked controversy with sexist remarks, attempted to pressure Adam into participating in Termite Terror<\/a>, refusing to acknowledge that the former Emmerdale<\/a> star simply was not feeling capable.<\/p>\n

Adam<\/a> lives with arthritis, a condition he has spoken candidly about. Describing its impact, he previously said: “It is an autoimmune disease. Basically means my immune system is attacking my own body. It causes a s**t-load of pain,”<\/p>\n

Adam has now revealed watching his I’m A Celebrity experience unfold on television has proved particularly challenging. Alongside an image from the show, which was filmed towards the end of last year, Adam has taken to Instagram<\/a> admitting he felt pushed to his limits.<\/p>\n

He said: “Not going to lie, this picture breaks my heart, as I know on the inside what I was dealing with and truth be told I thought it was all my fault. I now know that\u2019s not the reality\u2026 My time in I\u2019m a Celebrity South Africa was one of the toughest things I\u2019ve ever been through, physically, mentally, and emotionally.<\/p>\n

“Watching it back hasn\u2019t been easy at all. There were moments I felt pushed to my absolute limit, and if I\u2019m honest, times I didn\u2019t even recognise myself. Living with arthritis is something I don\u2019t really talk about, as much as I should do\u2026but in there it really took its toll.<\/p>\n

“My biggest fight was pretending to put on a brave face and trying to hide the pain! That can be exhausting within itself. There were days my body just didn\u2019t want to keep going, but I did.<\/p>\n

He added: “I won\u2019t sit here and say I handled everything perfectly, because I didn\u2019t. I wish I spoke up for myself sooner. I wish I stood my ground instead of trying to keep the peace, but I\u2019ve learned that being kind doesn\u2019t mean being weak, and sometimes it takes going through tough moments to find your voice.<\/p>\n

“Since coming out, I\u2019ve taken time to process everything, and I\u2019m in a much better place now. I let go of the anger, had the conversations I needed to have, and chose peace.<\/p>\n

“What I\u2019m most proud of, is at times like this I wanted to walk, I wanted to quit but I didn\u2019t. Even when I wanted to walk away, even when it felt like too much, I never give up! and that means everything to me. He broke me in there, he pushed me to my limits, and I\u2019ve told David this and he\u2019s apologised and that\u2019s that!”<\/p>\n

Adam said he has moved on and does not hold a grudge against David. He added: “But thank you for all your lovely messages and all the kind words We all face people and situations that try to break us, but sometimes those moments are what rebuild you stronger than ever.
