Gary Neville found himself at the centre of a social media storm this evening after Premier League fans accused him of bias during his Sky Sports commentary of Manchester City versus Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Manchester United defender was on punditry duties alongside Peter Drury for what many are calling a potential title decider at the Etihad.<\/p>\n

But it didn’t take long for supporters to voice their frustration online, with several claiming Neville was clearly rooting for the Gunners to come away with a result.<\/p>\n

The backlash came thick and fast on social media, with fans questioning whether the co-commentator could remain neutral during such a high-stakes encounter.<\/p>\n

But Arsenal weren’t behind for long \u2013 just two minutes later, Kai Havertz capitalised on a mistake from City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to level things up.<\/p>\n

It was Neville’s reaction to the equaliser that really got fans talking.<\/p>\n

As Havertz pounced on the Italian keeper’s error, Neville let out a massive “WOAHHHH” before exclaiming: “This is what we wanted\u2026 [Cherki’s] brilliance cancelled out.”<\/p>\n

One viewer simply said: “I don’t know how much longer I can stand listening to Gary Neville.”<\/p>\n

Others were even more direct, with one posting: “Gary Neville is so f** desperate for Arsenal to win this league ain’t he.”<\/p>\n

The commentary duo as a whole came under fire too, with one fan slamming: “Peter Drury and Gary Neville – a really hard to listen to commentary duo. <\/p>\n

“Drury spouting ‘poetic’ nonsense, Neville adding no value other than retrospective comments that we can all see.”<\/p>\n
