Bruce Springsteen<\/a>\u00a0has joined\u00a0The Doors<\/a>\u00a0drummer John Densmore for a version of \u2018Light My Fire\u2019\u00a0\u2013\u00a0check\u00a0out\u00a0footage\u00a0below.<\/p>\n

On Saturday night (April 18), The Boss made an appearance at the American Music Honors, an annual event\u00a0organised\u00a0by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center and held at New Jersey\u2019s Monmouth University.<\/p>\n

The Doors were among those\u00a0honoured\u00a0at the event, and Springsteen joined Densmore, as well as\u00a0The E Street Band<\/a>\u2019s Steve Van Zandt and the Disciples Of Soul house band for a rendition of the band\u2019s classic 1967 single.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no one in the room in danger of filling\u00a0Jim Morrison<\/a>\u2019s leather pants tonight,\u201d Springsteen quipped to the crowd after taking to the stage.<\/p>\n

Densmore and guitarist Robbie Krieger are the only surviving original members of The Doors,\u00a0and the drummer said at the event: \u201cThe Doors played in Asbury Park, and guess who was in the audience \u2013 the Boss!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, if our music helped Bruce shout out his bride, I\u2019m hip,\u201d he added, referring to Springsteen\u2019s wife Patti Scialfa, who was\u00a0apparently also\u00a0at the 1986 gig.\u00a0\u201cIt\u00a0apparently worked, \u201cDensmore continued. \u201cThey\u2019ve\u00a0been\u00a0together\u00a0quite a while. You know, so long that\u00a0maybe Patty\u2019s\u00a0the Boss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also at the event,\u00a0Dr. Dre<\/a>,\u00a0Dionne Warwick<\/a>,\u00a0Patti Smith<\/a>,\u00a0The Band<\/a>\u00a0and The E Street Band all picked up American Music Honors.\u00a0Many of the honorees came together to play Smith\u2019s \u2018People Have\u00a0The\u00a0Power\u2019,\u00a0which you can watch here:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Springsteen is currently on\u00a0his \u2018Land Of Hope And Dreams\u2019 US tour<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0Rage Against The Machine<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Tom Morello<\/a>, a trek inspired by the Boss\u2019 ongoing fury at the\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0regime, and in particular\u00a0the killing of two Minneapolis citizens by ICE agents earlier this year.\u00a0His new song \u2018Streets\u00a0Of\u00a0Minneapolis<\/a>\u2019 has become a staple of the shows.<\/p>\n

Trump has called for\u00a0the MAGA movement to boycott the \u201coverpriced concerts\u201d, which he said \u201csuck\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0The tour\u00a0is\u00a0set to run up until a stop in\u00a0Washington\u00a0DC on May 27. Before it even began, the tour\u00a0already got backlash from the White House<\/a>, with Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung saying: \u201cWhen this loser Springsteen comes back home to his own City of Ruins in his head, he\u2019ll realize his Glory Days are behind him and his fans have left him Out in the Street, putting him in a Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out because he has a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his brain\u201d.<\/p>\n

At a Minneapolis show,\u00a0Springsteen covered Prince\u2019s \u2018Purple Rain\u2019 for the first time in 10 years<\/a>, and he has since released the live footage, which you can watch here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
