Coronation Street<\/a> fans think the have worked out who will be killed off in the coming weeks. The world’s longest-running TV soap teased with a flashforward earlier this year that a death would be on the cards, and viewers saw that one of five antagonists was about to meet their maker.<\/p>\n

All at the heart of villainous storylines, viewers are yet to see whether Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) or Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) <\/a>will be leaving the soap in shocking scenes that will air over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

But as the Manchester-based programme returned to screens on Sunday evening, telling scenes began to play out between Carl and Theo. Known for his scheming ways, Carl is currently privy to the fact that Theo caused the death of vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in the soap’s crossover with Emmerdale <\/a>earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Fans believe Theo will be the one to kill Carl <\/p>\n

He is currently blackmailing Billy’s daughter Summer (Harriet Bibby) and she recently agreed to give him a five-figure sum to make sure that Theo is put in prison. As the latest instalment of the programme was broadcast, viewers saw Carl confront Theo in the street, just days after it emerged that he had been abusing his husband Todd Grimshaw.<\/p>\n

Trying to get rid of him, Theo said: “Do you fancy me? Is that what this is? Oh, you’re coming on to me. Cos you did have that thing with James, didn’t you, you and him? Are you a man on the rebound?” but Carl shot back: “Believe me, mate. You’re not my type. Don’t really go for blokes who are into beating up their partners.”<\/p>\n

Carl then encouraged Theo to hit him there and then on the spot, to which Theo threatened: “Listen, you think I’d do you the favour of doing it in broad daylight? Do you? No, mate. Nah. I’ll come for you when it’s dark. You might not even see me coming. And when I hit you… ..I’ll make it count. You won’t get up again.”<\/p>\n

The pair came to blows in the middle of the street on Sunday night’s episode<\/p>\n

Theo then grabbed Carl’s phone and smashed it as he accused him of trying to help Todd. When stopped by DC Kit Green as they tussled, Theo wormed his way out of the situation and wandered off. But viewers are convinced that Carl, who caused the crash during Corriedale that led to Billy’s death when Theo left him to die in an explosion, has now made a mortal enemy out of Theo.<\/p>\n

Taking to X, one fan wrote: “I found it funny that Carl wanted to start a fight with Theo but he was too much of a wimp to want to get hurt,” whilst another said: “Great scene with Theo & Carl going up against each other!”<\/p>\n

A third wrote: “Think it makes most sense for it to be Carl,” and another agreed as they wrote: “I think so too. He’s made far too many enemies and, yes, Theo did leave Billy to die, but we can’t forget that Carl was the one who caused the Corriedale crash in the first place.<\/p>\n

“Theo needs to serve time for what he did to Todd, and Carl actually being killed off would be his own poetic justice for everything he has done so far.”<\/p>\n

This is not the first time fans have speculated that Carl, who arrived as the long-lost brother of Kevin Webster before it was revealed that he was in fact his nephew, will be the one to go. Last week, a fan wrote on X: “I think Theo kills Carl,” and another posted: “Carl will die his exit is on the 23rd of this month via a body bag.” But not everyone thought Carl would die.<\/p>\n

Some fans think it’s Megan Walsh after her recent baby twist, while fans also wondered if Maggie will be the victim. A fan said: “Megan as her storyline has run out, but I\u2019d rather it was Theo!”<\/p>\n

Another fan posted: “I think it will be Megan,” as a third said: “Maggie, that flower on the question mark looks like something she puts in her hair!” A final comment read: “Could Be Maggie one more final showdown between her and Megan and Maggie gets the fatal end.”<\/p>\n

Coronation Street <\/a>airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV <\/a>X.<\/p>\n
