You can still check out the full patch notes in the original article below.

Update #1 [Wed 16th Jul 2025, 4:30pm]: Bethesda has confirmed that Patch 1.2 for Oblivion Remastered will be rolling out at some point today on PS5. You can find the patch notes in the original article below.

We’ll update this article once the patch is available to download.

Original Story: A second major update for Oblivion Remastered has been revealed, and it’s set to address some of the game’s most glaring issues.

Patch 1.2 is out now in beta form on Steam, but it’ll (hopefully) be coming to PS5 soon enough.

The headline for this one is the addition of new difficulty settings. Since its release back in April, players have been critical of the remaster’s current options, with many stating that they’re either too easy or too much of a chore.

It sounds like you’ll now be able to adjust ‘Player Combat Damage’ and ‘Enemy Combat Damage’ values to suit your needs, while a ‘Journeyman’ difficulty setting aims to bridge the gap between Adept and Expert.

For some, though, the biggest draw of this update will be the promised improvements to the game’s frankly shoddy performance. Multiple optimisations have been made, and recurring frame rate drops in certain locations have apparently been fixed.

You can get the full scoop via the patch notes, which we’ve collected below.

Oblivion Remastered Update 1.2 Patch Notes

SETTINGS CHANGES

We’ve added additional difficulty settings to allow players to further tune their “Player Combat Damage” & “Enemy Combat Damage”.
