If you\u2019re doing a first look at your wedding<\/a> and filming it, you probably want it to go a certain way. The ideal scenario \u2014 I\u2019m assuming you\u2019re in a straight couple here \u2014 is that the groom<\/a> immediately starts weeping and falls to his knees, his world completely thrown off its axis by how beautiful his bride is. What you probably don\u2019t want is your future husband to see you, start backing up, and go, \u201cOh, wow. Okay. Oh, wow. I didn\u2019t think you\u2019d go with the princess dress.\u201d Unfortunately for Olympic<\/a> track athlete Junelle Lyles (n\u00e9e Bromfield), that\u2019s exactly what happened during her first look with fellow Olympian Noah Lyles.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Lyleses got married earlier this month at an estate in Georgia and, like most couples, have been sharing a steady stream of content since their big day. Last week, they posted a video of their first look, which we can all watch together:<\/p>\n

In the video, Junelle\u00a0taps Noah\u00a0on the shoulder, prompting him to turn around. When he does, he backs up and says, \u201cOh, wow,\u201d before commenting on her dress\u2019s silhouette. \u201cYeah, this is good,\u201d he stutters unconvincingly. \u201cDang, that\u2019s a train. And we\u2019re supposed to spin in this?\u201d Later in the video, Noah tries to calm his bride-to-be\u2019s nerves by telling her that he\u2019s seen all of their guests \u2014\u00a0and then, for some reason, he laughs so hard he has to take a step back.<\/p>\n

The video has been viewed 2.6 million times on their photographer\u2019s TikTok<\/a> alone. In the comments, people tore into Noah. \u201cHe didn\u2019t even compliment her ONCE,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cThis wouldn\u2019t even be an acceptable reaction from a friend,\u201d shared another. In a video<\/a> that\u2019s been viewed nearly 4 million times, a content creator named Shawnda called Noah\u2019s\u00a0 response \u201call critique and no compliments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, when your husband embarrasses you on the internet<\/a>, it is a woman\u2019s wifely duty to get on TikTok and try to explain his side of the story. In a five-minute video posted on Saturday (comments are turned off, of course), Junelle\u00a0addressed the \u201cmixed reviews\u201d her first look had received. Junelle, who is Jamaican, said that several of her friends and family members had their visas denied, so she was already in an emotional state. To add on to that, five minutes before the first look, she was informed that the person who was supposed to give the first speech had not shown up. Junelle said she was incredibly \u201coverstimulated\u201d by everything going on, and the reaction she got from Noah\u00a0was \u201cexactly what I needed because he tried to make me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Junelle said that she was \u201cprocessing so much disappointment\u201d that if Noah\u00a0hadn\u2019t gotten her talking, she would have been \u201cshut off\u201d for the whole wedding. \u201cAll I wanted was to feel comfortable,\u201d she\u00a0added. \u201cAll I wanted was to laugh, to smile. And he did exactly that.\u201d Well, congratulations to the happy couple!<\/p>\n
