Former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios, who has \u2060not played a competitive singles match since January, will take part in this \u200cyear’s Halle grasscourt tournament in June, organisers \u200csaid on Monday.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old, who has \u200cstruggled for years with a series of \u200cwrist and knee injuries, is a \u200cmajor crowd-puller but does not have a singles ranking at the moment. The Halle \u200ctournament is a traditional warm-up \u2060event for Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

The \u200cAustralian’s only singles match of the year \u200bwas a straight-sets first-round loss to American Aleksandar Kovacevic \u200bin Brisbane in January.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios<\/a>, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2022, has played just \u2060seven singles \u200bmatches between January 2023 and April 2026.<\/p>\n

“Nick Kyrgios has been one of the most dazzling personalities in world tennis for \u200cyears,” Halle tournament organisers said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“The Australian is known for his exceptional playing style, characterised by one of the best serves on the tour, spectacular winners, and great creativity.<\/p>\n

“At the same time, his emotional personality and charisma attract considerable attention far beyond \u200cthe sport.”<\/p>\n

Kyrgios had said earlier this \u200byear he would compete in several \u200cgrasscourt events, skipping the clay season that precedes them. The Halle tournament will be held from June 13th to 21st.<\/p>\n
