A woman was urged to seek immediate medical attention after finding an unexpected creature in her bathroom. She went to use the toilet but was horrified after spotting the creature laying dead in the bowl<\/a>.<\/p>\n Alison Doyle, who posts on social media as @tismpump, regularly shares insight into her life and experiences with autism<\/a>, ADHD<\/a> and chronic illness, as well as her journey with bodybuilding and her mental health<\/a>. In the comments section of that initial video, many people told her to visit the hospital in case she had been exposed to rabies<\/a>.<\/p>\n The NHS<\/a> explains: \u201cRabies is a rare but serious infection that\u2019s usually caught from a bite or scratch of an infected animal.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but vaccination and early treatment can prevent it.\u201d<\/p>\n Recently, a woman named Yvonne Ford died after getting a very minor scratch from a puppy<\/a> while on a family holiday in Morocco.<\/p>\n In a follow up video, Alison showed she took the advice of her fellow TikTok users and ventured to the hospital to look into getting a rabies vaccine to be on the safe side.<\/p>\n She can be seen telling a hospital staff member in the footage: \u201cThis is going to sound really dumb. A couple hours ago, I found a dead bat in my toilet.<\/p>\n \u201cI posted it on TikTok and I had, like, a hundred people telling me I should get a rabies shot.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m autistic, I have a really hard time even going grocery shopping so if you don\u2019t think that I need it, I would rather just go home.\u201d<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n The hospital staff member tells her they\u2019re going to \u201ctalk more\u201d about the situation, before adding: \u201cI think it\u2019s good that you came.\u201d<\/p>\n The video has, so far, racked up more than 33.5 million views. In the comments section, people were keen to share their thoughts.<\/p>\n One person said: \u201cBless her for immediately saying it\u2019s good that you came and not invalidating you.”<\/p>\n Another person said: \u201cYou\u2019ll never regret preemptively not getting rabies! Good on you for going.”<\/p>\n A third commented: \u201cRabies is absolutely no joke. Good on you for being prudent.”<\/p>\n Someone else added: \u201cAs an ER nurse this is a fantastic example of explaining your situation and stating up front your concerns.<\/p>\n \u201cI love that you also state that if they think that you don\u2019t need it you are okay to go home!!\u201d<\/p>\n Rabies is a serious virus that\u2019s found all over the world<\/a>, though it is rare in the UK. According to experts, it\u2019s \u201cmore common in parts of Asia, Africa, Central and South America\u201d.<\/p>\n
