{"id":542076,"date":"2026-04-21T01:57:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T01:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/542076\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T01:57:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T01:57:15","slug":"warrington-wolves-forgotten-man-makes-injury-return-after-330-days-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/542076\/","title":{"rendered":"Warrington Wolves&#8217; forgotten man makes injury return after 330 days off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/AW6_8804.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>One of Warrington Wolves\u2019 forgotten men has made his playing return after a cruel season-ending injury suffered in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Young half Oli Leyland impressed for London Broncos during the 2024 season with his talents catching the attention of many clubs in Super League, including Warrington Wolves with Sam Burgess\u2019 side signing the young playmaker.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old played a handful of games for Warrington at the start of the 2025 season, including the club\u2019s nightmare in Las Vegas, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/rugby-league-news-warrington-wolves-hit-with-injury-blow-as-utility-back-ruled-out-for-the-season-104885\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leyland picked up a season-ending ACL injury in May<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It had been Leyland\u2019s fifth appearance for Wire but he\u2019s now finally made a playing return, representing the club\u2019s reserves off the bench in a defeat to a very strong London Broncos side.<\/p>\n<p>The Broncos, who are in 1895 Cup action today (Sunday), named plenty of first-team talent such as Alex Walker, Liam Tindall, Epel Kapinias and Sadiq Adebiyi to land a 32-28 win over Warrington\u2019s young guns.<\/p>\n<p>Jazz Tevaga\u2019s sin-bin, Hull KR\u2019s underrated star and very early Man of Steel candidates \u2013\u00a0<a class=\"in-cell-link\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/LntI-CN80_w?si=8lcYBT3wqWdpnghY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Click here to watch the latest episode of the Serious About Rugby League Show.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Oli Leyland makes Warrington Wolves\u2019 return<\/p>\n<p>Whilst Leyland will have certainly wanted to make a winning return to action, his return to the field after 330 days is of huge significance and it could now be followed by a period away from the club on loan in a bid to get him some first-team minutes.<\/p>\n<p>George Williams has been a constant in the halves for Warrington Wolves whilst Ewan Irwin has been pushing Marc Sneyd for the other starting spot.
