Police say they are following a positive line of enquiry after a woman was murdered on a street in Glasgow, as the search for a \u201cdangerous\u201d man continues.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Colligan was pronounced dead after being found injured on Cardowan Road on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Police launched a murder investigation following the 82-year-old\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Grant McKinnon, who is being described as a \u201cdangerous\u201d person and is being hunted by police, was last seen in the area at the same time.<\/p>\n

McKinnon is described as 6ft tall, with a shaved head and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a red hood and blue jeans.<\/p>\n

Members of the public have been urged not to approach the 30-year-old and to call police immediately if he is spotted.<\/p>\n

Officers are said to be following a \u201cpositive line of enquiry\u201d and have launched an online portal where information, pictures and videos can be sent directly to the team.<\/p>\n

Detective superintendent Gary Ferguson said: \u201cGrant is considered to be dangerous and I\u2019m appealing for information from the public to help us trace him as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone sees Grant, they should not approach him but contact police immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detective inspector Gordon Walker said: \u201cOur thoughts remain with Elizabeth\u2019s family and friends during this very difficult time. We are continuing to offer them our support as the investigation progresses.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers are following a positive line of enquiry and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened. This includes door to door enquiries in the local area, as well as a detailed review of all available CCTV footage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are especially keen to speak with anyone who saw or heard anything around 4am on Saturday, April 18, 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief inspector Jon Watters said: \u201cWe understand that this will be concerning for the local community, and we want to reassure the public that extensive enquiries are underway. There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days, and anyone with information or concerns is encouraged to speak with officers.\u201d<\/p>\n
