Manchester.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The revelation comes from his new autobiography, titled Bows and Arrows.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Office for Students <a href=\"https:\/\/www.officeforstudents.org.uk\/news-blog-and-events\/press-and-media\/arts-funding-in-higher-education\/\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reformed the way specialist education institutions were funded, external<\/a> and the Conservatoire missed out, partly as it was part of Birmingham City University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The school has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcu.ac.uk\/conservatoire\/about-us\/news\/rbc-to-become-an-associate-bcu-faculty-in-its-own-right\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">since loosened its ties with the university, external<\/a>, one reason for which was to &#8220;unlock additional funding streams&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Explaining why now had been a good time to release his book, he said: &#8220;I was at the point where I had finished my career, really.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I had an injury and after resigning from the Conservatoire.
