Leandro Riedi<\/a>\u2019s title run at last week\u2019s Busan Open underscores a step forward in his comeback from injury.<\/p>\n \nThe Swiss shut down his 2025 season after reaching the third round of the US Open<\/a> as a qualifier. Riedi then announced he needed groin surgery, his third surgery in a 13-month span.<\/p>\n \nNow on the comeback trail, the 24-year-old entered Busan with a 6-8 season record and following his triumph, Riedi is up 40 places to No. 129 in the PIF ATP Rankings Riedi rallied past Buyunchaokete 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in Sunday\u2019s hard-court final. Roman Safiullin<\/a>, who also did not compete post-US Open<\/a>, won the Challenger 125 event in Oeiras, Portugal, where he downed top seed Valentin Royer<\/a> 6-1, 6-2 in the final. <\/p>\n \n\u201cI never imagined [winning the tournament],\u201d said Safiullin. \u201cI had to fight in every match since qualifying. I felt a lot of difficulty at the beginning of the main draw and in the quarter-finals I faced a match point [against Jaime Faria<\/a>]. I had many problems throughout the tournament and I tried to find solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n \nA qualifier into Oeiras, the former No. 36 was competing in just his sixth event of the season. Hugo Dellien<\/a> earned one of the most memorable victories of his life by winning the Bolivia Open<\/a>, the highest level of tournament in his home country. The 32-year-old treated the home fans to a 6-4, 7-5 final victory against Juan Carlos Prado Angelo<\/a>. China\u2019s Sun Fajing also won on home soil with his victory at the Wuning Challenger II. The 29-year-old overcame Australian Li Tu<\/a> 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 in the championship match to claim his second Challenger title. At No. 213 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Sun is the third-highest ranked Chinese player, behind Wu Yibing and Buyunchaokete.<\/p>\n
Clement Tabur<\/a> won his maiden Challenger title at the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger<\/a> in Florida, securing his rise to a career-high No. 167. The Frenchman led Joao Lucas Reis Da Silva<\/a> 6-4, 1-0 when the Brazilian retired due to a right shoulder injury. <\/p>\n
