We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p>Your support makes all the difference.Read more<\/p>\n<p>A batch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/blood-pressure\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">blood pressure<\/a> medication is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/bulletin\/lifestyle\/blood-pressure-medication-recall-ramipril-b2935380.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">being recalled<\/a> after a potential manufacturing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/error\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">error<\/a> meant some packets may contain the wrong dose. <\/p>\n<p>The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) warned batches of Ramipril 10mg capsules, manufactured by Crescent Pharma Limited, may contain blister strips of a lower dose, specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/health\/baxdrostat-high-blood-pressure-trials-results-b2817050.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ramipril 5mg<\/a>, due to a potential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/science\/high-blood-pressure-treatment-breakthrough-b2818981.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">manufacturing error. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>It comes after a patient found one blister pack of Ramipril 5mg capsules inside a sealed carton of Ramipril 10mg capsules.<\/p>\n<p>Both product batches were manufactured at the same site, and the error appears to have occurred during secondary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/packaging\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">packaging<\/a> of the cartons. <\/p>\n<p>The regulator has advised pharmacy and healthcare professionals to stop supplying the impacted batch of medication and\u202freturn all remaining stock to their suppliers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/01KMMFHF6EJ98TQAJNCNZSGW02.jpg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Batches of a blood pressure medication are being recalled as some packs contain the wrong dose\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/>Batches of a blood pressure medication are being recalled as some packs contain the wrong dose (PA)<\/p>\n<p>However, the risk to patients taking the lower dose of this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/medicine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">medicine<\/a> for a short time is very low, the MHRA said. <\/p>\n<p>Ramipril is taken by millions of people worldwide to treat high blood pressure and heart failure.
