Former Australia fast bowler Peter Siddle has pulled out of his proposed move to Nottinghamshire for this summer’s T20 Blast for personal reasons.<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old, who had a previous spell at Trent Bridge in 2014, was due to play the whole tournament <\/a>but will not now be travelling to the UK.<\/p>\n

Notts director of cricket Mick Newell said the club were “naturally disappointed” , external<\/a>Siddle was not coming, but would now “focus our efforts on securing the services of a replacement for this summer’s competition”.<\/p>\n

Siddle retired from international cricket in December 2019 after taking 221 wickets in 67 Tests but has continued playing domestically in Australia.<\/p>\n

As well as Notts, he has had spells in England with Lancashire, Essex, Somerset and was with Durham last summer.<\/p>\n

Siddle has most recently been playing in the Pakistan Super League for Multan Sultans, taking 2-28 from four overs in an 11-run win against Karachi Kings on 19 April.<\/p>\n
