A Moray harbour has been cordoned off after a surprise visit from a walrus.<\/p>\n
The mammal was spotted resting at Lossiemouth Marina today by shocked locals who have been warned to stay clear.<\/p>\n

A social media post from Lossiemouth Marinas reads: \u201cPlease keep clear. A walrus is currently taking much needed rest on one of our fingers at the marina.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs incredible as it is to see, we have cordoned off the area and ask that you keep well clear and quiet so as not to disturb it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe British Divers Marine Life Rescue team is on the way.\u201d<\/p>\n
One local told The Northern Scot that the animal appeared to have \u201csome injuries,\u201d with speculation that it is the same walrus that appeared at an Orkney pier a few days ago.<\/p>\n
That particular animal, named Magnus for turning up on St Magnus\u2019 day, was estimated to be about 2.5m long and was seen leaving the pier in Orkney on April 16.<\/p>\n

Walrus visits to the Moray coast are considered exceptionally rare but due to climate change affecting their Arctic ice habitat, visits to Scotland are becoming slightly more frequent.<\/p>\n
