Super League clubs have been put on alert for the second time in as many days, with another potential head coach being sacked from the NRL.<\/p>\n

After St George Illawarra Dragons parted ways with Shane Flanagan earlier this week, the 60-year-old\u2019s assistant, Michael Ennis, has also been shown the door.<\/p>\n

The pair have both departed after the club failed to win any of their opening seven matches, leaving them rock bottom of the table.<\/p>\n

Ennis was said to be a candidate to step up and take over from Flanagan, but instead the club have opted to go in a different direction, choosing Dean Young as their interim boss until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The assistant boss, who is also a regular member of the NRL\u2019s broadcast team on Fox League, said the decision \u201ctook him by surprise\u201d, as he now looks for a new coaching role elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Ennis has never held a head coach role of his own, and has only been an assistant boss since reitiring at the end of 2016.<\/p>\n

He has held positions at clubs such as Canberra Raiders and Manly Sea Eagles before joining the Dragons at the beginning of this season.<\/p>\n

His exit could mean a potential move to Super League is on the cards, with the 42-year-old being tipped as someone who could replace Willie Peters at Hull KR for 2027.<\/p>\n

RugbyLeagueHub\u00a0revealed last month that Ennis was a man of interest to the Robins, who are looking to make a decision on their next boss in May.<\/a><\/p>\n

Should Rovers choose someone else, there are still clubs such as Hull FC, Catalans Dragons and Huddersfield Giants who are all on the look-out for new head coaches, whilst Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves are still assessing whether to continue with their current bosses into 2027, Brad Arthur and Sam Burgess, respectively.<\/p>\n
