\u201cI had the black jersey on that day,\u201d she admits. \u201cMy family are Samoan, based in New Zealand, and because of my dad they\u2019re massive Kiwi fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got a wedding this Christmas, so I\u2019ll try get back out for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her rugby journey didn\u2019t come easy either \u2014 it started after adversity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got into rugby around ten, after the accident,\u201d she explains. \u201cThen at under-15s I had to move clubs \u2014 we were travelling an hour to Crediton just to play in a proper girls\u2019 team. Every Sunday, non-stop.\u201d<\/p>\n
And behind it all? One constant.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy mum\u2019s been my biggest driver. She helped me find opportunities, especially with how few girls\u2019 teams there were locally.\u201d<\/p>\n
