Specifically; newly enhanced Audio Eraser functionality, Creative Studio, Call Screening and Photo Assist.

The newly enhanced Audio Eraser can separate and optimize voices, music, and background noise as they happen. This allows users to adjust audio instantly while watching content on third-party platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and Instagram. By swiping down to the Quick Panel, there is a little pop up that offers options to dampen background noise, or boost the clarity of dialogue.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be imbued by the latest Galaxy S26 AI features. Check out the video above, or here, to see it in action.

Galaxy S24 users will also get access to Call Screening, which is an AI assistant that can answer incoming calls from unknown numbers on the user’s behalf. It transcribes the call in real-time so you can decide whether to pick up or not.

Finally, an updated Photo Assist offers lets users edit images with text prompts using generative AI. For example, adding or removing objects, or changing the color of clothes on people in the image.

Samsung Brings Enhanced AI Bixby to Older Devices Via One UI 8.5

The One UI 8.5 beta also includes the newly AI-powered Bixby. Samsung partnered with Perplexity AI, blending their technology to handle more complex requests. This includes the standard chatbot stuff, but I’ve found the most useful thing Bixby can do now is be your device expert.

For example, instead of digging through menus, you can tell Bixby “my eyes are strained,” and it will automatically enable Eye Comfort Shield. If you mention the screen is too bright in the dark, it will trigger the Extra Dim setting. You can even ask Bixby to run a diagnostic on your battery health or toggle your mobile hotspot without knowing the specific menu paths.

ForbesSamsung’s Disappointing Price Update For Galaxy Phone BuyersBy Janhoi McGregor

If you pondered whether Samsung would keep some of its premium AI features exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, at least for a period of time, as Google often does with its Pixel phones, think again.

The Korean company has been explicit for two years about its commitment to bringing as many people into Galaxy AI as possible. Back in 2024, when the first generative AI features landed, Samsung said it wanted to bring the Galaxy AI experience to “over 100 million” Galaxy users. There’s no immediate financial incentive for Samsung to do this, but relying on AI tools via your Samsung phone to get through the day nudges people further into the Galaxy AI ecosystem.

They’re also a good showcase of what a Samsung Galaxy phone can do, and that is particularly true for Bixby in One UI 8.5. The tool’s ability to help users navigate through the phone and its seemingly endless feature list isn’t something that’s available on Google or Apple phones yet.

Update April 21st: Samsung’s Stable One UI 8.5 Build Expected To Land In May

Update April 21st 8:31am ET: Samsung is continuing its rollout of the One UI 8.5 beta, bringing critical bug fixes and—most importantly—advanced AI tools to older Galaxy hardware. The new features include the aforementioned Call Screening, Creative Studio, Photo Assist, and Enhanced Audio Eraser.

According to Samsung tipster Tarun Vats on X, the current list of phones that will receive the One UI 8.5 AI upgrades includes the Galaxy S25 FE (alongside the main Galaxy S25 series more broadly), Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Notably, the Galaxy S24 FE is not on the list so far, though the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 are all included.

Vats also spotted the stable One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series, which they predict will be released internationally around May 4th. Alongside the AI tools, the update will address several bugs, providing fixes for Bluetooth crashes and an issue where a black screen is shown during incoming calls.

There’s no information yet on whether even older Galaxy phone series will receive these AI skills, but Samsung began rolling out the One UI 8.5 beta to 2023 devices earlier this month. The Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy A36 5G gained access to the beta. This arrived shortly after Samsung revealed that select Galaxy phones will support cross-platform file sharing with Apple’s AirDrop via an updated Quick Share integration.

After releasing the newly AI-powered version of Bixby to millions of Galaxy devices via the One UI 8.5…

[6
15233,59,187430,5054,90029,19081,12968,3036,187428,187429,93831,86,56,54,55
0":"post-544106","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-technology","8":"tag-galaxy-s26","9":"tag-gb","10":"tag-samsung-free-upgrade","11":"tag-samsung-galaxy-s24","12":"tag-samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra","13":"tag-samsung-galaxy-s25","14":"tag-samsung-galaxy-s26","15":"tag-samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7","16":"tag-samsung-galaxy-z-series","17":"tag-samsung-messages-galaxy-s26","18":"tag-samsung-one-ui-8-5","19":"tag-technology","20":"tag-uk","21":"tag-united-kingdom","22":"tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
