Valentin Royer has never won a main-draw match on this surface and may struggle to deal with Tabilo\u2019s quality.

Former world No.9 Roberto Bautista Agut has announced that this will be his final year on the Tour<\/a>, which makes this week even more special for the Spaniard. Bautista Agut will make his 12th main draw appearance in Madrid, and his first in 2014 remains his best, as he reached the semifinals. The 38-year-old retired mid-match in his first-round match at the Monte Carlo Masters, casting some doubt on his fitness. Thiago Agustin Tirante has played well on clay this season, and if the Spaniard is not at his best, Tirante will win.

Rafael Jodar vs Jesper de Jong<\/p>\n

Just over a month ago, Rafael Jodar was outside the Top 100, and now he sits comfortably inside the Top 50<\/a>. He has made a great start to the clay season and is easily beating opponents who are much more experienced than he is. The conditions here should suit his game even more, and Jesper de Jong doesn\u2019t have the same firepower or form to stay with the 19-year-old.

Matteo Berrettini vs Dino Prizmic<\/p>\n

Matteo Berrettini lost quite easily against Joao Fonseca earlier this month and will be looking to bounce back and show some good tennis. He is a former finalist in Madrid, and the conditions suit his style of play. His serve should get a lot of bite, and Dino Prizmic will find it extremely difficult to contain the power of the Italian player. I am backing Berrettini to win this in straight sets.
