Nothing Warp was announced last week and then abruptly removed just hours later. Now, Nothing has revived Warp following some \u201cfine tuning,\u201d but you now need to sideload the app.<\/p>\n

Nothing Warp is effectively a stopgap for AirDrop. The app uses Google Drive as a bridge to make files from one device accessible on another. We tried it out on release <\/a>and found that, while it worked quite well, the big problem was any time file sizes grew as that was fully dependant on the speed of your internet connection.<\/p>\n

Then, the whole thing was suddenly removed<\/a>. All app listings were removed, and so was the announcement.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s back.<\/p>\n

In a statement sent to 9to5Google, Nothing says that Warp\u2019s removal was to \u201cfine-tune the product following its initial release\u201d and emphasizes that there \u201care no security or privacy concerns.\u201d The Chrome extension has since been re-listed, but the Android app has not returned to the Play Store and is instead solely available as an APK on Nothing\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nothing Warp was temporarily withdrawn to fine-tune the product following its initial release. The app is built on Google\u2019s infrastructure and handles no user data. There are no security or privacy concerns. Warp is available in Beta for the community. If you would like to try it, feel free to\u00a0download it from the community site<\/a>\u00a0and share your feedback.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, the whole situation is a little weird. It\u2019s unclear why the app hasn\u2019t returned to Google Play, though Nothing positions it as a \u201cbeta for the community.\u201d <\/p>\n
