Dino Prizmic<\/a> on Wednesday completed his third win in as many days at the Mutua Madrid Open<\/a> to set a second-round showdown with in-form fourth seed Ben Shelton<\/a>. <\/p>\n The 20-year-old Prizmic eased past Matteo Berrettini<\/a> 6-3, 6-4 inside Manolo Santana Stadium with a high-quality all-around display. The Croatian, who won two qualifying matches to earn his debut in Madrid, notched a single break in each set to earn just his second ATP Masters 1000 main-draw victory. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s definitely a big thing for me,\u201d Prizmic said after downing former World No. 6 and 2021 Madrid finalist Berrettini. \u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to share the court with him. Today I\u2019m very happy about my performance, and also it\u2019s a pleasure to play here on this centre court. Yet Prizmic will hope that already having racked up three wins in Madrid, including prevailing in a three-hour, 22-minute marathon against Christopher O\u2019Connell<\/a> in his first-round qualifying match on Monday, will stand him in good stead against the American. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very tough, because I already played two matches in qualies, but it is what it is,\u201d Prizmic said. \u201cI just tried, also yesterday, to prepare as much as I can. I\u2019m happy about my game today.\u201d <\/p>\n Prizmic won 79 per cent (26\/33) of points behind first serves against Berrettini, according to Infosys ATP Stats. The former World No. 3 and 2014 US Open<\/a> champion will next take on 27th seed and #NextGenATP Brazilian star Joao Fonseca<\/a> for the first time. <\/p>\n In other early Wednesday play, Emiliano Nava, Ignacio Buse<\/a> and Vit Kopriva<\/a> each earned a straight-sets victory. Nava prevailed 6-3, 7-5 in an all-American battle with Jenson Brooksby<\/a> to advance to face 14th seed Valentin Vacherot<\/a>. In the same section of the draw, Buse downed Adrian Mannarino<\/a> 6-4, 6-2 for the right to take on 21st seed and last week\u2019s Barcelona champion Arthur Fils<\/a>. <\/p>\n Kopriva raced past Zhang Zhizhen<\/a> 6-2, 6-0 and will play 2024 champion Andrey Rublev<\/a> for a third-round spot, while Damir Dzumhur<\/a> also advanced. The Bosnian saw off Mattia Bellucci<\/a> 6-2, 6-4 and will next play 29th seed Tallon Griekspoor<\/a>.
