As a result of taking this unplanned time off from his routine, DeFord has been avoiding stepping onto the scale.<\/p>\n
In case you needed a refresher (though his preview image on the above YouTube video is a good reminder), he weighed over 500 pounds as recently as 2023.<\/p>\n
Since then, he has lost more than half of that weight.<\/p>\n
As of the end of 2025, his weight loss totaled 275 pounds.<\/p>\n
After months of taking a break and then more months being unable to exercise, he\u2019s faced mounting fears of backsliding on his progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hit the goal and it was right before the holidays,\u201d DeFord explained in the Saturday, April 18 video.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I was like, \u2018You know what man, I\u2019ve been working hard for the last three years losing this weight, I\u2019m going to enjoy the holidays.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
He shared: \u201cI had a big Thanksgiving meal, I had a big birthday meal, I ate a big Christmas meal.\u201d<\/p>\n
DeFord admitted: \u201cKinda got off the rails and I broke my collarbone \u2026 a few days before Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n
Notably, the news of his injury only came months later, in early March.<\/p>\n

DeFord told viewers that he had gained 12 pounds.<\/p>\n

What about his body transformation journey?<\/p>\n
The truth of the matter is that bodies are always transforming, for good or for ill \u2014 but, most often, in neutral ways.<\/p>\n
It is one of the many horrors of being alive. And while humanity will one day cure unwanted changes such as aging and death, that kind of innovation is decades away.<\/p>\n
For now, we all need to acknowledge realities. Lost weight comes back. Joints stop working like they once did.<\/p>\n
Loving your body in any form can be great, for some. Body neutrality \u2014 acknowledging what your body is and what your body needs without placing a moral value on size, shape, or more \u2014 is more helpful and more important.<\/p>\n
Like everyone, DeFord deserves to have exactly the body that he desires.
