With Milan design week<\/a>\u00a0in full swing, we’ve rounded-up some of our favourite furniture designs to inspire your entries to Dezeen Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Centred around the Salone del Mobile<\/a> furniture fair, this year’s Milan design week takes place from 20 to 26 April and is set to host hundreds of designers, architects and brands with numerous must-see installations and exhibitions<\/a> across the city.<\/p>\n

From a minimalist log-like perch to timber furniture adorned with crayon marks, these seating and workplace furniture designs offer a tasteful touch of flair to spruce up everyday spaces.<\/p>\n

Formwork by Gini Moynier<\/a><\/p>\n

Salvaged spruce<\/a> and oak<\/a> from the construction industry are paired together in this limited edition collection of minimalist furniture by Swiss<\/a> design studio Gini Moynier.<\/p>\n

A two-tone effect is achieved by combining lighter spruce timber with darker, honey-coloured oak in the series, which comprises a chair, a side table and a wall-mounted shelf.<\/p>\n

\"LumberPhoto by Jonas Lindstrom<\/p>\n

Lumber by Mizetto<\/a><\/p>\n

Designed by Swedish<\/a> design studio Addi and manufactured by Mizetto, this minimalist, log-like perch offers a space for users to rest where conventional seating would take up too much room.<\/p>\n

The Lumber seat was developed in response to the increasing amount of time people spend in what Addi calls “active yet anonymous spaces” such as waiting areas in cafes, schools and offices.<\/p>\n

\"CenterPhoto by Form Us With Love<\/p>\n

Center Center by String Furniture<\/a><\/p>\n

This flexible, modular system for the modern workplace, designed by Stockholm<\/a>-based studio Form Us With Love<\/a> for String Furniture, aims to show that “static storage is a notion of the past”.<\/p>\n

The pegboard-style furniture can be expanded vertically and horizontally in response to the growing need for adaptability in homes and workplaces.<\/p>\n

\"CrayonPhoto by Siri Svedborg<\/p>\n

Crayon Pine by Siri Svedborg and Adrian Bursell<\/a><\/p>\n

A repetitive pattern of marks made with colourful wax crayons defines this series of timber furniture and lighting by Swedish<\/a> designers Adrian Bursell and Siri Svedborg.<\/p>\n

The motion of the hand becomes visible in the rhythmic lines applied directly onto the solid pieces of Swedish pine, a process which “embraces irregularity and slowness as a form of innovation.”<\/p>\n

Profil by Keiji Takeuchi<\/a><\/p>\n

Premiered at MDW 2025, this versatile seating system was designed by Keiji Takeuchi for Hydro’s R100 exhibition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crafted entirely from Hydro CIRCAL 100R<\/a> \u2013 aluminium made from 100 per cent post-consumer recycled aluminium, the project showcases the potential of sustainable materials in high-quality design.<\/p>\n

Faneeri Folding Chair by Jonas Forsman for Nikari<\/a><\/p>\n

Designed by Jonas Forsman<\/a> for Nikari<\/a>, this minimalist folding oak seat combines flexibility with comfort.<\/p>\n

The lightweight structure features a curved backrest made of thin aircraft plywood which provides support, minimises material usage and folds flat for easy storage.<\/p>\n

Silos Collection by Studiopepe for Uniqka<\/a><\/p>\n

This family of low tables upholstered with vegetable-tanned leather are modelled after industrial silo structures.<\/p>\n

Designed by Studiopepe<\/a> for Uniqka, the collection of sculptural volumes features tubular legs constructed from paper, making the tables light and easily portable.<\/p>\n

Maluma by Claesson Koivisto Rune<\/a><\/p>\n

Claesson Koivisto Rune<\/a> designed this seating system for Modus Furniture<\/a>, comprising a series of circular chairs with rounded backrests that can easily be connected.<\/p>\n

When conjoined, the string of chairs can be reconfigured into a variety of dynamic arrangements, from arches to snaking lines, to suit the users’ needs.<\/p>\n

Workplace B by BD Barcelona<\/a><\/p>\n

This flexible system for diverse work environments, designed by Konstantin Grcic Design<\/a> for BD Barcelona<\/a>, features a tabletop made of 90 per cent recycled extruded aluminium.<\/p>\n

The streamlined setup is fully flexible and customisable, allowing users to extend Workplace B’s length and enhance it with a range of accessories.<\/p>\n

Offecct Circulus by Mario Ferrarini Studio<\/a><\/p>\n

This multi-purpose modular<\/a> seating system, designed by Mario Ferrarini Studio for Flokk<\/a>, features slender upholstered planes folded like origami.<\/p>\n

The adaptable system stems from a construction methodology that allows for a variety of configurations, emphasising circular design principles with a distinctive look.<\/p>\n
