Radiohead<\/a>\u2018s Ed O\u2019Brien<\/a> has shared a hypnotic new single \u2018Incantations\u2019 and announced a serious of UK \u2018In Conversation\u2019 events.<\/p>\n

The guitarist is due to release his solo album \u2018Blue Morpho\u2019 on May 22 via Transgressive (pre-save\u00a0here<\/a>). So far, he\u2019s released the sprawling title track<\/a>, released at the same time as the album announcement back in March.<\/p>\n

Now, O\u2019Brien has shared the second taste of the album, the hypnotic psych-folk single \u2018Incantations\u2019.<\/p>\n

Alongside the new single, O\u2019Brien has also announced a series of \u2018In Conversation\u2019 events, to accompany the screening of his short film, Blue Morpho: The Three Act Play.<\/a> There will be three Q&As held in May at Leeds\u2019 Crash Records (23), Cardiff\u2019s Jacaranda Records (24) and London\u2019s EartH Theatre in partnership with Rough Trade (26).<\/p>\n

Alongside his \u2018In Conversation\u2019 events, O\u2019Brien is also due to appear at the Great Escape festival as a speaker<\/a>. He will speak alongside Nadine Shah<\/a>, where they will discuss mental health in partnership with the CALM<\/a> charity.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien is also due to tour with a collective of musicians<\/a> who performed on the LP\u2019s recording sessions, including musical director Dave Okumu and ESKA.<\/p>\n

Billed as \u2018An Evening With\u2026 Blue Morpho\u2019, O\u2019Brien, Okumu and ESKA will deliver \u201ca fluid and immersive experience \u2013 a celebration of the music in which each performance will evolve and take on a life of its own\u201d.<\/p>\n

We last spoke to O\u2019Brien for his debut solo album in 2020<\/a>, where he told us whether he had compared notes with frontman Thom Yorke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I haven\u2019t. How do you ask one of the best frontmen for advice?,\u201d he told us. \u201cI probably should the next time I see him! It\u2019s funny \u2013 I don\u2019t think any of us have sought advice from each other on our external projects. We just do our thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other news, Radiohead are set to play \u201c20 shows each year\u201d on a different continent from 2027<\/a>, according to Ed O\u2019Brien.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Rolling Stone<\/a>, O\u2019Brien confirmed the indie rock legends will play more shows in the near future \u2013 following their highly successful live return last year<\/a>, their first since 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019re going to do is, every year we\u2019re going to do a different continent, and we\u2019re going to do 20 shows each year. No more, no less,\u201d O\u2019Brien told the outlet.<\/p>\n

He also told\u00a0Consequence<\/a> that Thom Yorke is set to release an album this year<\/a>, saying: \u201cWhat\u2019s so lovely is it feels they both can coexist,\u201d he said. \u201cThe Radiohead thing can go out and tour \u2013 and\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0the mothership, I guess, for all of us.
