The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SMEDAN) has revealed that it has so far trained 14,000 entrepreneurs under the The Inspire, Create, Start and Scale (ICSS) framework developed by GIZ in collaboration with SMEDAN.
Speaking during the ICSS4ALL 2026 National MSME Summit in Abuja, the Director General of SMEDAN, Dr. Charlse Odii, noted that training lies at the fundamental base for all Nigerian entrepreneurs to succeed.
He said, \u201cThe Inspire, Create, Start and Scale framework, developed by GIZ in collaboration with SMEDAN and our ecosystem partners, provides a standardised, structured, and inclusive pathway for entrepreneurship development in Nigeria.
\u201cOver fourteen thousand entrepreneurs have been trained under this framework. This number goes beyond a statistic to me. The vast majority are young Nigerians who arrived without the structure, documentation, or financial literacy that lenders require, and who left with all three. Behind every one of those fourteen thousand is a business with a stronger foundation and an entrepreneur with a clearer, more credible path forward.<\/p>\n

Odii added tthat SMEDAN is also in the process of updating the National MSME Policy to embed the ICSS curriculum as the standard framework for entrepreneurship education across Nigeria.<\/p>\n
