According to reports, Manchester United chiefs wanted to go \u201cbig\u201d for England boss Thomas Tuchel, while there is an update on Michael Carrick\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
Tuchel has been among those linked with a move to Man Utd<\/a> following former permanent boss Ruben Amorim\u2019s exit, though he has opted to extend his England contract until 2028.<\/p>\n This has boosted interim boss Carrick<\/a>\u2018s chances of landing the job permanently, which would be deserved if\/when he secures Champions League qualification for Man Utd.<\/p>\n Under Carrick, Man Utd have won eight of their last 12 matches as their hopes of Champions League qualification have dramatically improved.
