Manchester United must abandon their move for Nottingham Forest<\/a> star Elliot Anderson and instead go all out to sign Real Madrid’s<\/a> Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils<\/a> are desperate to strengthen their midfield this summer with a number of signings in the upcoming window, with the England international understood to be the number one target<\/a>, despite his hefty price tag<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But their interest is hindered by the fact that rivals Manchester City are also very keen on the former Newcastle star, and it has now been revealed after an update by Sky Sports on Thursday afternoon<\/a>, that it’s Pep Guardiola’s side that lead the race for his signature.<\/p>\n

Man Utd Must Abandon Anderson Chase<\/p>\n

Reports have previously suggested that Anderson prefers a move to the Etihad Stadium<\/a> over Old Trafford too, and it has raised the question as to why the club are continuing to persist with chasing a deal that is really expensive, for a player who doesn’t even want to join.<\/p>\n

He has never been the only player to be on the shortlist, and it emerged this week that Man Utd are strongly interested in a move for Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni<\/a> to replace Casemiro in the defensive midfield role.<\/p>\n

With Tchouameni reportedly a genuine target, and Anderson seemingly off the cards now anyway, there is no reason for United not to be pushing ahead with a move for the France international instead, and putting all of their resources towards getting that done.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has been described as ‘the best defensive midfielder in the world’<\/a>, but is entering the final two years of his contract at the Bernabeu which has sparked speculation that he could be on the move, as Madrid eye moves for Rodri and Enzo Fernandez.<\/p>\n

Tchouameni Is Much Better Than Anderson<\/p>\n

Alongside the fact that Tchouameni is simply a better player than Anderson, there are fewer risks to the deal too.<\/p>\n

The France international has won it all at the highest level, proving he has the quality. He is also stronger, quicker, as good on the ball, and will be cheaper as a result of his contract status.<\/p>\n

Reports suggest that Man Utd are ready to make an offer<\/a> to tempt both the Spanish giants and the player himself to green-light the move to the Premier League, and United should be doing all they can to get this deal over the line instead of trying to convince Anderson.<\/p>\n
