Muse<\/a> have shared another taster of upcoming album \u2018The Wow! Signal\u2019 with the old-school space rocker \u2018Cryogen\u2019. Check it out below.<\/p>\n

Following on from last year\u2019s \u2018Unravelling<\/a>\u2018 and recent lead single \u2018Be With You\u2019 that launched the album<\/a>, the Devonshire stadium trio\u2019s latest cut from their incoming 10th LP has now been officially released after being given its live debut at their intimate Brixton Academy gig<\/a> in London earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Starting with a wailing guitar intro that feels like a cousin to the iconic \u2018Plug In Baby\u2019 riff, \u2018Cryogen\u2019 offers a nod or to Muse\u2019s past with echoes of the band\u2019s gothic space rock of seminal 2001 album \u2018Origin Of Symmetry<\/a>\u2018 and 2006\u2019s widescreen stadium anthemics of \u2018Black Holes & Revelations<\/a>\u2018, complete a thunderous breakdown and a slick sense of completion courtesy of the production from live member Dan Lancaster<\/a> (Bring Me The Horizon<\/a>, Blink-182<\/a>). Additional production comes from Aleks von Korff.<\/p>\n

Lyrically, frontman Matt Bellamy<\/a> projects his heartache onto an apocalyptic canvas: \u201cWinter\u2019s end, she\u2019s Europa, I\u2019m a cracked interloper \/ Icicles pierce my heart so cruel and quiet \/ Loneliness, she left me trembling in a polar desert \/ Wilderness, I\u2019m breaking\u2026Cryogen, I can never cry again \/ Cryogen, I\u2019m freezing over.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Per a press release, \u2018The Wow! Signal\u2019 takes its title from one of the most compelling interstellar mysteries of the last century \u2013 \u201ca powerful 72-second radio burst detected in 1977 originating from the constellation Sagittarius with a bandwidth and intensity that suggested a possible extraterrestrial source\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe astronomer who discovered the anomaly famously circled the now-iconic sequence \u20186EQUJ5\u2019 and wrote \u2018WOW!\u2019 on the printout beside it \u2013 giving the signal its name and cementing its place in scientific and pop-culture lore,\u201d it added<\/p>\n

The record is said to explore \u201ca mix of cosmic mystery, existential hope, and the exhilarating possibility of contact with something far greater than ourselves\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Wow! Signal\u2019 will arrive on June 26. Muse have also announced a 2026 North American arena tour with Bloc Party, The Temper Trap and Portugal. The Man<\/a>. UK and European dates are expected to be announced shortly, after Bellamy teased at their recent London gig that the band would \u201cbe back in November<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n
