Fall Guys<\/a> was big for five minutes but it\u2019s really fallen off since Epic bought the developer.<\/p>\n

Attempts to integrate it into Fortnite<\/a> have fallen flat, and the shameless Stumble Guys<\/a> has largely eaten its lunch.<\/p>\n

And now Totopia, a free-to-play rival from China, has been announced, ahead of a release in 2027.<\/p>\n

As the press release reveals, this all-new rival \u201cblends the cute charms of cosy life sim games with multiplayer party game fun\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

So you\u2019ve got that clear Fall Guys obstacle course aspect, as well as the ability to decorate your own home with objects and furniture you collect. It\u2019s not entirely clear how the two aspects will intertwine, but it looks fun enough.<\/p>\n

Here are the key aspects, outlined in the release\u2019s blurb:<\/p>\n

This one is clearly aiming at a younger audience, but it certainly looks more fun and responsive than the likes of Roblox. (Although presumably far less flexible, so unlikely to have the same impact.)<\/p>\n

While we\u2019re not hugely taken with the art style here, the gameplay does look pretty good; we especially like how some of the platforming adopts a 2D perspective, as opposed to just the 3D arenas from Fall Guys.<\/p>\n
