\n Michelle Collins – who plays Cindy Beale in the BBC soap – tripped over her dog Peggy while staying with friends for the Easter bank holiday weekend.\n<\/p>\n

\n She “bashed” her knee and was left with “cuts and bruises”, leaving her in A&E at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\n The 63-year-old said at the time that the injury would disrupt filming, as she was left on crutches and would only be able to film scenes “sitting down”<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\n But Collins has now revealed to her 169,000 Instagram followers that she is finally “fine and walking around”.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Everyone at EastEnders has been so kind and considerate,” she said.\n<\/p>\n

\n “I’m lucky to have a job where they can quickly work in the script that Cindy is suddenly on crutches.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Magic. Love my job. Sometimes.”\n<\/p>\n

\n EastEnders’ production team is well-used to dealing with these situations.\n<\/p>\n

\n Balvinder Sopal, who portrays Suki Panesar, injured her hip and glute while training for Strictly Come Dancing in September.\n<\/p>\n

\n She was seen wearing a boot on screen, and writers incorporated it into the plot by having Suki explain she was hurt in a “mosh pit” at a gig.\n<\/p>\n

\n Similarly, Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, gave birth to her third child, Gipsy Olive, in January 2025.\n<\/p>\n

\n Her character was not pregnant at the time, so her bump was carefully hidden by flowy clothes and props such as large bags.\n<\/p>\n

\n Collins, who also played Stella Price in Coronation Street, publicly leapt to the defence of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after her ordeal.\n<\/p>\n

\n The hospital was ranked the worst in the country last year<\/a> – but Collins said she “never would have known” based on the service she received.\n<\/p>\n
