Consistency is what Hull KR head coach Willie Peters is looking for as he prepares to take his side to Odsal this afternoon.<\/p>\n
The Robins make the trip to face Bradford Bulls on the back of four straight wins and three in Super League with last week’s 46-0 win over Toulouse Olympique being the most dominant showing of the season so far.<\/p>\n
It was a win that demonstrated that Rovers are beginning to get back towards their very best with the ball in hand, but the zero sends out a clear message about Rovers’ defensive might as well going forward.<\/p>\n
KR secured six shut outs last season, including five in Super League and last Friday’s was their second zero of the year, having thumped community side Lock Lane 104-0 in the Challenge Cup in February, and their first against a professional outfit.<\/p>\n
It’s a signal of intent and Peters will be hoping it’s a sign of things to come, too, as Rovers look to continue building a head of steam and push on towards the top of the table.<\/p>\n
“To be at your best and to be at the top of your game, you have to be consistent with it,” Rovers head coach Peters said. “For us, that’s all we’re worried about, performances and being consistent with that and not so much comparing to last year.<\/p>\n
“We have to make sure that defensively we are consistent and results usually come of the back of the way we defend.<\/p>\n
“We know we get points if we defend well and that’s what we aim to do this weekend against Bradford.<\/p>\n
“For me, I just want us to be consistent, I want us to improve and be consistent with the standards that we have and hold ourselves to each week.”<\/p>\n
While KR are on a winning run, Bradford have now gone three games without a result and last weekend’s 52-12 hammering at the hands of Wakefield Trinity as injuries pile up, will have left a bitter taste.<\/p>\n
Peters is expecting something of a reaction this weekend then and he’ll have KR ready for that, but he has also spent some time preparing for the narrow pitch at Odsal.<\/p>\n
“It’s obviously a different pitch,” he said. “We’ve planned accordingly. We know the pitch dimensions, looked at ours and made sure we can adjust. We have a plan in place and the most important thing is executing, you have to execute your plan.”<\/p>\n
Peters added: “Bradford have been consistent with the way they’ve played. Last week was the only game where I’m sure they weren’t satisfied with afterwards but we know what we’re going to get this week.<\/p>\n
“They’ll bounce back this week, back at home and we know what we’re going to get.
