Hearn said Matchroom no longer needs to hand out oversized guarantees to bring in talent because the company already has a strong roster and stable business.<\/p>\n That exchange points to the bigger issue around Haney right now. His market price was built during an era when streaming platforms and outside money were paying aggressive guarantees. Traditional promoters now appear less willing to match those figures unless a fight can clearly return the investment.<\/p>\n Bill Haney sees it differently. Their view is that Devin backed Matchroom when the company was still growing in the U.S., helped bring visibility through title wins and major fights, and should not be treated as expendable now.<\/p>\n The truth is probably simpler than either side wants to say publicly. Devin is a strong name, but promoters only pay top money when they see a clear event attached to it.
