Mohamed Salah faces a race against time to make one final appearance for Liverpool after a new update emerged over the injury that forced him off in the 3-1 Premier League<\/a> win over Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Salah<\/a> was withdrawn shortly before the hour mark while clutching his hamstring. It immediately raised concerns whether Reds supporters will see the Egypt international in action for the club again.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old, who has scored 257 goals in 440 appearances across his nine, decorated seasons at Anfield<\/a>, announced last month that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After the victory over Palace<\/a>, which moved the Reds a big step closer to securing Champions League<\/a> qualification, head coach Arne Slot<\/a> said “we simply don’t know” if Salah will play again this season.<\/p>\n

The defending Premier League champions have four games left to play – away to Manchester United, home to Chelsea, away to Aston Villa and finally home to Brentford, which will take place in four weeks’ time on Sunday, May 24.<\/p>\n

And Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan says that is the exact amount of time Salah is going to need to recover.<\/p>\n

Hassan told Okaz in an exclusive statement<\/a>: “Mohamed Salah<\/a> is suffering from a muscle tear and will be out of action for four weeks.”<\/p>\n

Asked if he will bit fit to play against Brentford on the last day of the Premier League season, Hassan replied: “It is not possible to determine that at the moment.<\/p>\n

“It depends on how well he recovers from the injury and his readiness.”<\/p>\n

The report adds that the Egyptian national team “quickly contacted Liverpool<\/a> to check on Salah’s condition” with the World Cup less than 50 days away.<\/p>\n

The forward, who will captain his country at this summer’s World Cup in North America, disappeared straight down the tunnel for treatment after coming off and will undergo scans to ascertain the extent of the damage.<\/p>\n

Reds boss Slot said<\/a> on Salah: “We don\u2019t know, that is the best answer I can give. If I say there might be a chance, that is probably the headline.<\/p>\n

“We simply don\u2019t know, but what we do know is that the season is over in four weeks. There are not a lot of games to be played, so we have to wait and see how his injury is and if he is able to return to play.<\/p>\n

“What I do know about Mo is that for all these years he has taken so good care of his body that he will have the minimum time required to recover from an injury. Let\u2019s hope for the best that he\u2019s available.”<\/p>\n
