Local wildlife enthusiasts are being invited to an evening of nature, photography and storytelling at Berrow Village Hall on Tuesday (April 28th) when keen amateur photographer and conservation volunteer Joy Russell will give her first public talk.<\/p>\n
Joy\u2019s talk, titled \u2018Joy by Nature\u2019, will showcase a series of her wildlife photographs and short films, celebrating the natural beauty found in and around the Burnham and Berrow area. She says she hopes to inspire others to \u201ctake the time to stare, to enjoy, learn and care about our surroundings and all that live in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The presentation will feature a wide range of close\u2011up encounters and memorable moments, from a winking frog and the song of a blackbird, to the rainbow colours in a goldfinch\u2019s wings and even a bumblebee\u2019s tongue. Joy says the evening will include \u201clots of interesting facts and personal recollections,\u201d offering a gentle mix of education, wonder and local wildlife appreciation.<\/p>\n
Admitting she is \u201ca tad nervous\u201d ahead of her first talk, Joy says she is also \u201cso looking forward to sharing my thoughts and images with everyone,\u201d adding that she hopes people will leave the evening \u201cfeeling relaxed, happy and inspired.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Berrow Conservation Group says it is delighted to welcome Joy as a speaker and encourages residents and visitors with an interest in nature to come along and enjoy the evening.<\/p>\n
The event, hosted by the Berrow Conservation Group, begins at 7.30pm, with refreshments served at the end.
