Asda Express in Prudhoe was taped off by police following an incident which left members of staff ‘shaken’\"Police<\/p>\n

Police cordoned off a petrol station following an incident overnight. Officers were called to the Asda Express on Front Street, Prudhoe, with the area being taped off.<\/p>\n

A police van and a car were both at the scene on Sunday morning when inquiries appeared to be taking place. Three police officers were spotted speaking with Asda employees on the forecourt.<\/p>\n

There appeared to be no damage to the premises. A member of staff at Asda Express told ChronicleLive<\/a> that members of staff were “left shaken” following the incident.<\/p>\n

No one has been injured as a result of what happened, they added. The Asda Express was closed for some time before reopening to the public at around 9.30am, with the cordon being lifted.<\/p>\n

The exact nature of the incident is currently unknown. ChronicleLive has contacted Northumbria Police<\/a> and Asda for comment.<\/p>\n
