The BBC<\/a> have finally chosen Tess Daly<\/a> and Claudia Winkleman<\/a>\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing successors after a \u2018 long, drawn-out process\u2019.<\/p>\n Last year,\u00a0the duo\u00a0stunned viewers by announcing it was the \u2018right time\u2019 for them to depart, <\/a>having always insisted they would leave together.<\/p>\n Rumours quickly began swirling around who would replace them for one of the biggest jobs on British TV, with everyone from\u00a0Holly Willoughby<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Alan Carr<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Amanda Holden<\/a> reportedly shortlisted for the high-profile gig.<\/p>\n The wait is almost over as the \u2018final day of screen tests\u2019 have concluded, with the chosen presenters waiting for that all-important call.<\/p>\n A source told The Sun: \u2018Yesterday was the final day of screen tests, so bosses have tried out lots of different combinations of hosts together, and today they are sitting down\u00a0to make the decision.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Strictly\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s TV Newsletter.<\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your show in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you.<\/p>\n Nine stars were said to be in the final phase of auditions: Rylan Clark<\/a>, Emma Willis, Tom Allen, Angela Scanlon<\/a>, Alex Jones, Bradley Walsh<\/a>, Zoe Ball, Alison Hammond and La Voix.<\/p>\n \t\t The source continued: \u2018They want it done and dusted this week. The announcement may not come for a few more weeks, because obviously contracts will need to be signed but the powers that be will be naming who they want in closed-door meetings as we speak.<\/p>\n \u2018They really didn\u2019t want to get this wrong, which is why it\u2019s been such a long, drawn-out process. Everyone who has auditioned and been invited for screen tests is on tenterhooks, they just want to know now.\u2019<\/p>\n The auditions reportedly mimicked a Strictly show, with judges and even a live band, to see who has what it takes to cope with the pressures of live television.\u00a0<\/p>\n Metro spoke to Alison about the swirling rumours that she had auditioned, despite her previous dismissal that she was \u2018too busy\u2019.<\/p>\n She said: \u2018Do you think I would turn down Strictly if Strictly came along? Who would turn down Strictly!
