Today\u2019s Alien Day and surprisingly, that means we\u2019ve gotten our first tease of\u00a0Alien: Isolation 2.<\/p>\n
Developer Creative Assembly put out a short video on Sunday morning dubbed \u201cFalse Sense of Security.\u201d It opens on a dark room with a light flashing red as the camera slowly pushes in on it. When the light hits green, the doors open to briefly reveal a rainy city, followed by a close-up of an Emergency phone, which were save stations in the first game. What city this is and how much danger the people are in are answers we\u2019ll have to wait for. Even the video description is cryptic\u2014it simply says \u201cA feeling of being safer than one really is.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was nearly two years ago<\/a> that Creative Assembly announced an\u00a0Alien: Isolation\u00a0sequel was in early development. The original game released in 2014 and put players in the shoes of Amanda Ripley, looking for her mother Ellen and getting tangled up in Xenomorph nonsense. Well-reviewed and a solid seller, it seemed like a one-and-done until 2024 when the studio announced the sequel. It also probably didn\u2019t hurt that Fede \u00c1lvarez was a fan of the game and gave it a shoutout<\/a> in Alien: Romulus.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll have more on\u00a0Alien: Isolation 2\u2014or whatever it\u2019s called\u2014as news emerges.<\/p>\n Want more io9 news?
