\n A recent meeting of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority heard that Mr Burnham had tasked officials with drafting a bid to host the historic tournament in 2035.\n<\/p>\n
\n This comes after the long debated Hulton Park scheme, to create and 18-hole luxury golf course in Over Hulton, was included a wave of huge investments across the city region.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Burnham said: \u201cI think we can do it, we will do it and we will do it better than anyone has done it before.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n He added: \u201cBut it must come with the that infrastructure investment, not just in Bolton bit going into Wigan.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Mr Burnham said that was well as preparing a bid to host the Ryder Cup, the city region will also be bidding to host the Solheim Cup, a biannual tournament for professional women golfer.\n<\/p>\n
\n The GMCA meeting had assembled to approve a range of proposals including \u00a369.8M for the Park Avenue scheme.\n<\/p>\n
\n This was announced earlier in March and aims to support delivery of the first phase of a new M61-M6 link road, new cycling and walking routes, and new bus routes to the Ryder Cup site.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Burnham told the meeting that as well as the road, the investment<\/a> would also be aimed at improving train lines like the Atherton Line, which serve areas around the Hulton Park site.\n<\/p>\n \n Funding<\/a> came from a \u00a3500M wave of investments for various projects<\/a> across the city region announced in March.\n<\/p>\n
