\n\tA seventh \u201cFinal Destination<\/a>\u201d movie is in the works at New Line with \u201cBloodlines\u201d co-writer Lori Evans Taylor returning to pen the new installment.<\/p>\n

\n\tCraig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle and Toby Emmerich also return to produce the Warner Bros. and New Line movie with Warren Zide executive producing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFinal Destination: Bloodlines,\u201d the sixth movie in the 25-year-old horror franchise, opened at No. 1 at the global box office <\/a>this May. With a $51 million domestic debut, the movie achieved the best opening weekend in the series to date. By the end of its theatrical run, it became the franchise\u2019s highest-grossing film, with a $286 million global haul. Overall, the feath-driven series has earned over $983 million worldwide, making it New Line\u2019s third-biggest horror franchise behind \u201cThe Conjuring\u201d universe ($2.3 billion) and the \u201cIt\u201d movies ($1.2 billion).<\/p>\n

\n\tTaylor co-wrote the screenplay for \u201cBloodlines\u201d with Gary Busick, reviving a franchise that had been dormant for 14 years following 2011\u2019s \u201cFinal Destination 5.\u201d The pair, along with filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, expanded the scope of the franchise via a plot that saw Death \u2014 the movies\u2019 ever-present (and persistent) antagonist \u2014 attempting to reclaim its victims across multiple generations of the same family, ultimately delivering a movie that was \u201cclever, unpredictable and fun,\u201d per Variety\u2019s review.<\/a> The review also credited Taylor and Busick with creating \u201cone impishly dangerous situation after another for their characters while understanding that the films\u2019 foundational misdirection (especially in terms of how each one will die) works best when the audience doesn\u2019t have to suspend disbelief too much to buy each homicidal sequence of events.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTaylor is also known for the 2024 psychological thriller \u201cCellar Door\u201d and 2022\u2019s \u201cBed Rest,\u201d a supernatural thriller starring Melissa Barrera, with which Taylor made her directorial debut. Upcoming, she penned the adaptation of Carla Norton\u2019s \u201cThe Edge of Normal,\u201d with Chlo\u00eb Grace Moretz starring and Carlota Pereda directing, and she also adapted \u201cI Am Still Alive\u201d for Universal, with Ben Affleck attached to star and produce. Taylor is repped by WME, Kaplan\/Perrone and McKuin, Frankel, and Whitehead.<\/p>\n
