Brothers Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick created three pieces of history on Sunday by winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.<\/p>\n

The English duo won the pairs tournament by one stroke following their birdie on the 18th at TPC Louisiana to spark emotional celebrations.<\/p>\n

In doing so, they have become the first brothers to win a PGA Tour together.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, having finished on -31 [257 strokes], they ensured it was the lowest score ever set at the Zurich Classic since it became a pairs event in 2017.<\/p>\n

They have also become the first all-United Kingdom duo to triumph in Louisiana.<\/p>\n

The duo had already created Zurich Classic history on Saturday<\/a> by carding a 15-under round of 57 – the lowest-ever single round score.<\/p>\n

Alex and Matt<\/a> had competed in the event in the previous two years – finishing in T11 in 2024 before failing to make the cut in 2025.<\/p>\n

As a result of the victory this time around, which has earned each sibling \u00a31million, Alex has received a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour through 2028.<\/p>\n

It was only last month which saw the 27-year-old earn his maiden DP World Tour victory at the Hero Indian Open.<\/p>\n

And his victory at the Zurich Classic ensures that he will start just his second major tournament after The Open in 2023 having received an invite into the PGA Championship at Aronimink in May.<\/p>\n

Speaking after his success, Alex revealed he will be scrapping his scheduled flights to Turkey, where he had been due to compete in the Turkish Airlines Open on the DP World Tour.<\/p>\n

He will now be setting his sights on impressing at the Cadillac Championship instead.<\/p>\n

He said: “It won\u2019t sink in \u2013 I\u2019ve got a flight booked for Turkey tonight!<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to be here with him [Matt], mum and dad. It\u2019s as good as it gets.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Matt, he now boasts three PGA Tour victories in 2026 having triumphed at the Valspar Championship in March.<\/p>\n

And he followed that win by pipping Scottie Scheffler in a play-off to emerge victorious at the RBC Heritage<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n

With his latest success, he has become the first Englishman to win at least three occasions in a single year on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

It also takes him above Scheffler<\/a> in the FedExCup standings.<\/p>\n

Speaking of his latest victory, the 2022 US Open champion remarked: “It was a struggle.<\/p>\n

“I was doing zero to help him, but he was fantastic on the back nine. I said, ‘Just give us a chance on the last to hit a bunker shot like that.’<\/p>\n

“It means the world.
