It\u2019s been a difficult year for Liverpool, and as we near the end of April it\u2019s still difficult to say with any certainty if last season\u2019s Premier League champions have actually found any kind of an identity, a foundation that could be built on over the summer to perhaps give them a real chance of competing for silverware next season.<\/p>\n

Having won their last three in league and with a finish that would grant Champions League qualification all but secure, though, all signs point to all of the major players remaining in place\u2014which is to say head coach Arne Slot and sporting directors Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes. However, that doesn\u2019t mean there will be no significant changes.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest changes off the pitch from last season after Liverpool won the league title was the departure of assistant manager John Heitinga, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst taking his place. Now, it appears likely Van Bronckhorst will depart with Feyenoord his most likely landing spot as the Dutch side\u2019s new technical director.<\/p>\n

At least that\u2019s what The Mail\u2019s Lewis Steele<\/a> thinks is likely to happen. With Heitinga well liked by the squad last season and the man largely responsible for running training and Van Bronckhorst taking that over, it might be easy to see that as at least potentially one of the reasons things have gone wrong for Liverpool in the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n
