Remember, all prices are correct at the time of publishing and subject to change. And please gamble responsibly.

The Banker: Patrick Cantlay

28/1 e/w (Paddy Power, Sky Bet 8 Places 1/5 Odds)

Patrick Cantlay is returning to contending form, and at his best we know he can take down an event and a field like this. Sure, he’s failed to get over the line in a major to this point, but he has won big titles, including the BMW Championship and Tour Championship in 2021 to win the FedEx Cup, and he certainly borders on the elite in terms of talent.

It has been a lean spell for Cantlay since that 2021 season, adding just a Zurich Classic win alongside Xander Schauffele, and a stellar title defence to win back-to-back BMW Championships since, and that cannot be ignored. But he will know that better than anyone, and he will be keener than ever to return to the winners’ circle for the first time in four years.

As an eight-time winner who has directly beaten some of the best players in the world to grab those titles, we know Cantlay has the nerve to win an event of this magnitude, and while it gets harder every time he fails to get over the line again, this looks a great spot for him to do so.

He comes to Doral off the back of three-straight top 12 finishes, including an 8th last time out at the Heritage, where he was sat in 4th at the halfway stage. He now plays this course for the first time in tournament conditions, but I think this could be a good set up for him.

In 2021 Cantlay beat Bryson DeChambeau at Caves Valley, where Rory McIlroy finished 4th, and he won the BMW the following year at Wilmington as well, so he has experience winning at longer courses, and that will put stand him in good stead here. Another course that comes to mind when I think of Doral is Bay Hill, and Cantlay finished T4 there in 2023 as well.

He was 7th and 18th in his last two starts in SG Approach and 9th and 2nd in those same tournaments in SG Tee to Green, Cantlay looks poised from a ball striking perspective and the Florida resident can win close to home this week, as he looks for a long overdue return to the winners’ circle.

The Outsider: Keegan Bradley

55/1 e/w (Coral, Ladbrokes 8 Places 1/5 Odds)

If you watch Full Swing you will see that Keegan Bradley introduced a mustache to make Ryder Cup conversations less awkward at the start. And on a more serious note, you will see how much he put into his decision not to play, and on trying to win the event.

You can also easily see why he’s struggled so much since the defeat, but there are signs this is turning around. The first sign came in the form of his best ever round at Augusta, where he shot a final round 66, and he followed that up with a 12th place finish at the RBC Heritage, a career-best finish in that event.

He now returns to Doral, where he’s finished inside the top-8 twice and where he was in 2nd place, going into the final round on debut back in 2012.

Like I previously mentioned, I like Bay Hill as a course comp, and Bradley has twice had a chance to win there, no more so than when 2nd in 2014, but he also has 3rd, 5th and two more top -10 finishes there as well. He also broke the front-nine scoring record at the course in 2025, so apart from TPC River Highlands, Bay Hill is likely his favourite course, or at least his favourite he’s never won at.

His ball striking numbers don’t paint a typical picture in recent weeks, normally we see excellent Approach and Tee to Green numbers from Bradley when he’s in form, but rest assured, he is playing well, and there’s certainly reason for optimism at a course he’s enjoyed in the past and is like others he’s succeeded at.

The Long Shot: Pierceson Coody

60/1 e/w (Bet365 8 Places 1/5 Odds)

The course gives it a feeling of a big event, having hosted a WGC for so long, but this doesn’t have the feel of a Signature Event like the earlier ones have this season, and that’s probably because there’s too many of them in a short span.

Whatever the reason may be, it’s probably a good thing there’s seemingly less of a spotlight on this event, as many might question Pierceson Coody’s credentials of closing one out, when he couldn’t get over the line at the Isco Championship.

Naïve or otherwise, I am optimistic Coody is still to find another level and I think he has the game to really compete among the very best. This course, which plays into his hands as a long hitter, might just give him the platform to prove that.

Coody led the field in SG Off the Tee last year, and while he only ranks 30th so far this season, the driver is still very clearly a weapon, and he’s a player you certainly to look at when it’s demanding off the tee.

He finished 16th last time out at the RBC Heritage, but interestingly led the field in SG Approach, and his iron and wedge play has certainly improved this season, as he ranks 25th in SG Approach. Last year he ranked 94th in that category and that his best season to date, so it’s noticeable he’s taken this step forward.

Hovering around the top 50, the 26-year-old will be keen to crack that number, and if his T2 finish at Torrey Pines this year and his T14 at Bay Hill in 2023 are anything to go by, Doral may well be the sort of course where he can make a big breakthrough.

The Bonus Bet: Gary Woodland

50/1 e/w (Bet365 8 Places 1/5 Odds)

We have enjoyed several feel-good stories this year, but Gary Woodland returning to the Winners’ Circle, following brain surgery in 2023 tops the lot, and I think the fairytale could continue this week.

A long course that rewards strong driving plays right into Woodland’s hands, as he ranks 2nd in Driving Distance this season, and 13th overall in SG Off the Tee.

His around-the-green game needs some work and before he holed out with a beautifully flighted shot on the 18th at Harbour Town we might have said there’s room for improvement with the irons, but we are nitpicking at a player who is in fantastic form.

He’s finished 14th, 1st, 33rd and 8th in his past four events, with the 33rd coming at Augusta, Woodland is clearly ready to compete with the best again, and he will enjoy a test that rewards his driving, which was the case when he won in Houston.

Woodland played here three times over the years, and while he never finished better than 16th, he’s a better player than he was when he last teed it up here, doubling his win tally, with one of those wins being a major since then.

It’s funny to think that Woodland might be better prepared to win here at 41, three years removed from a brain surgery, than he was when he was playing here as a 30-year-old, but that looks to be the case to me, and he’s certainly a fun player to root for this week, aside from just being a good bet.

After four years playing host to the LIV Golf League’s Miami event, Trump National Doral is back on…

[39
5904,101,56,54,55
post-554405","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-golf","tag-golf","tag-sports","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
