\n\tLaura Dern<\/a> has joined the cast of \u201cThe White Lotus<\/a>\u201d Season 4, Variety has confirmed. <\/p>\n

\n\tDern is joining the series in place of Helena Bonham Carter, who recently exited the series<\/a> shortly after filming began. Dern is not taking over the exact role Bonham Carter was to play, however. Instead, she is playing a new character developed by series mastermind Mike White. <\/p>\n

\n\tPreviously announced cast members are: Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani and Nadia Tereszkiewicz. Additional cast includes Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer and Laura Smet.<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the official description of Season 4, \u201cThe fourth season will follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival. Hotels featured include the Airelles Ch\u00e2teau de la Messardi\u00e8re as the White Lotus du Cap and the H\u00f4tel Martinez as the White Lotus Cannes. In addition to Cannes, the season will film in St. Tropez, Monaco and Paris, though the story will remain set in the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhite is the writer, director, and executive producer. David Bernad and Mark Kamine also executive produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe role brings White and Dern back together under the HBO<\/a> umbrella. The pair previously co-created the HBO series \u201cEnlightened,\u201d in which Dern also starred. They also worked together on the film \u201cYear of the Dog,\u201d which White wrote and directed an in which Dern played a supporting role. Dern also made an uncredited voice cameo in \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d Season 2. <\/p>\n

\n\tDern is a nine-time Emmy Award nominee, winning the award for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series in 2017 for \u201cBig Little Lies.\u201d Her other nominations have come from her work on projects like \u201cPalm Royale,\u201d \u201cThe Tale,\u201d and \u201cEnlightened.\u201d She is also a three-time Academy Award nominee, winning best supporting actress in 2020 for \u201cMarriage Story.\u201d Her other credits include the \u201cJurassic Park\u201d franchise, 2019\u2019s \u201cLittle Women,\u201d and \u201cStar Wars: The Last Jedi.\u201d<\/p>\n
