The United States<\/a> government, marking 250 years of independence from a monarchy, will this summer issue passports featuring a large photograph of its most senior leader\u2019s face.<\/p>\n

The limited-edition documents, billed as a commemoration of the US\u2019s 250th anniversary of independence, will display Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s photograph on the inside cover, surrounded by the text of the Declaration of Independence and the US flag, with his signature rendered in gold. A separate page features the famous painting of the founding fathers signing that very document.<\/p>\n

Tommy Pigott, a state department spokesperson, said in a statement the passports would feature \u201ccustomized artwork and enhanced imagery\u201d while retaining existing security features, describing the US passport as \u201cthe most secure documents in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n

The passports form part of the administration\u2019s \u201cAmerica250\u201d celebrations, a program that also includes a Grand Prix race on the National Mall and a UFC fight on the White House south lawn.<\/p>\n

The state department said it would release a limited number of the passports for the \u201chistoric occasion\u201d but would not confirm how many there would be.<\/p>\n

The passport is just the latest in Trump\u2019s effort to plaster his face across US institutions and documents. A banner of the president\u2019s face already graces<\/a> the Department of Justice building in Washington, along with others hanging<\/a> on the Department of Laborand the Department of Agriculture, where it is featured alongside Abraham Lincoln<\/a> beneath the words \u201cGrowing America Since 1862\u201d.<\/p>\n

The national parks pass for 2026<\/a> also features Trump\u2019s face, with George Washington\u2019s, under the word\u2019s \u201cAmerica the beautiful\u201d. After visitors began covering his image with stickers in protest, the National Park Service updated its policy<\/a> to warn that altering the pass in any way could render it invalid.<\/p>\n

The US Mint, meanwhile, has published draft designs for a $1 coin bearing Trump\u2019s likeness, and the commission of fine arts this year approved a design<\/a> for a commemorative 24-karat gold coin featuring a stern-faced Trump leaning over a desk.<\/p>\n

Completing the picture, a 250-foot golden victory arch \u2013 internally referred to as the \u201cArc de Trump<\/a>\u201d \u2013 received preliminary approval this month despite what was described as overwhelmingly negative public feedback.<\/p>\n
