A huge fire has ripped through a hotel in Fife with emergency services continuing to tackle the \u201cwell-developed\u201d blaze.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called after 10pm to the fire at the newly-refurbished St Michael\u2019s Inn near Leuchars, northwest of St Andrews.<\/p>\n

At the height of the fire, nine appliances and four specialist resources were dispatched to the scene.<\/p>\n

Images shared on social media showed fire spreading at the inn with a large number of emergency services in attendance.<\/p>\n

As of 9am on Tuesday morning, two appliances and one high-reach vehicle remain on scene with crews expecting to be on site for \u201csome time\u201d.<\/p>\n

There are no reported casualties.<\/p>\n

However, crews are urging nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n

Police say the fire is not being treated as suspicious.<\/p>\n

The A914 is restricted between Forgan Roundabout and St Michaels, and there are also restrictions affecting the A919 to Leuchars and B945 to Tayport.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: \u201cWe were called at 10.11pm on Tuesday to reports of a commercial building fire at St Michael\u2019s Inn, St Andrews, Leuchars<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the height of the fire, Operations Control mobilised nine appliances and four specialist resources to the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cSix appliances and three specialist appliances on scene remain in attendance, with crews still working on a well-developed kitchen fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are no reported casualties.<\/p>\n

\u201cNearby residents are being urged to keep windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland statement read: \u201cAround 10.40pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, we received a report of a fire at St Michael\u2019s Inn, Leuchars.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll roads are still closed surrounding the junction at the hotel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe A914 is restricted between Forgan Roundabout and St Michaels, and there are also restrictions affecting the A919 to Leuchars and B945 to Tayport.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDrivers are advised to find alternative routes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fire is not being treated as suspicious.\u201d<\/p>\n
