(KWCH) &#8211; The weather held up long enough on Sunday for the first walk event hosted by NAMI Wichita at Sedgwick County Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The free NAMIWalks event was aimed at raising awareness for mental health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sunday\u2019s walk event was just under a mile and also served a fundraiser. Event organizers said they received a lot of positive feedback at their first walk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cEverybody said it was a really good first walk. They were very happy we had an upbeat walk. They walked just under a mile,\u201d said the executive director of NAMI Wichita, Tara Gwynn. \u201cThey had a lot of energy coming and going. They were grateful to learn about not just NAMI Wichita, but their local resources that can help with mental health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">NAMI Wichita is a nonprofit offering free mental health education and support to those who need it.
